Perception System Engineer

Your Responsibilities

As a Perception Systems Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works, located in Dubuque, IA, you will:

• Assist system engineers and execute plans related to integration of perception technologies on vehicles.
• Integration of Vision systems through Integrated Systems Development Process (ISDP) and Product Delivery Process (PDP) projects.
• Define and document interface requirements for PDP and future technologies.
• Execute Continuous Improvement projects for Object Intelligence (OI)
• Perception Hardware: Limited work on OI power rail/harness design
• Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
• Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
• Apply existing applications to routine problems.
• Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
• Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products.
• Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation

What Skills You Need

• Experience working in off road precision technologies, ADAS features
• Experience in system engineering of automation features
• Knowledge of product development processes
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting embedded software, electrical hardware and their interaction with mechanical systems
• Skill in using engineering tools. Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
• Skill in using company information systems and processes. Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.  
• Ability to work in a self-directed mode while managing multiple priorities in a sustain + improve environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross functional teams. 

What Makes You Stand Out

• 2 or more years of Product Engineering experience
• 2 or more years of technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/software
• 2 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems and databases
• Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment and Company division/unit
• Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Technology Development process (ETDP) and/or Enterprise Customer Acquisition Process (ECAP). Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance 

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related area of study or equivalent experience
