Your Responsibilities

 

  • As a Software Engineer for John Deere in East Moline, IL, you will assign, coordinate, and review portions of the work to support personnel. In addition, you will:

 

  • Make decisions within established guidelines subject to review;
  • Execute high level applications to more complex problems;
  • Be innovative by fulfilling unmet customer needs;
  • Engage with other IT applications to deliver integrated solutions;
  • Work on an agile team to enhance/develop applications for John Deere in the Channel space, support cloud environments across the Channel domain;
  • Promote security by design principles;
  • Design, develop, and implement using Java, J2EE, JavaScript, React, REST APIs;
  • Enable continuous integration and delivery for software products utilizing Jenkins, GitHub Actions;
  • Migrate and modernize on-premise workloads to cloud environment (AWS).
  • Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 20% remote work allowed. 4 days in office required.       

 

What Skills You Need

 

  • 4 years of experience in design and develop highly interactive software applications using Java Spring boot framework, JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML5, and CSS and integrating with REST, SOAP APIs and external web services
  • 3 years of experience in provisioning Azure resources including Service Bus Queues WCF Relays and Topics by developing the custom micro services
  • 4 years of experience in implementing security for REST APIs using OKTA OAUTH authentication and Veracode, Checkmarx and Mend scans to resolve issues in static and dynamic scans
  • 4 years of experience in automation of CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Docker, Azure DevOps, Deployment, and provisioning infrastructure and utilizing AWS resources including EC2, ECS, ECR, S3, EFS, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, and Route53
  • 3 years of experience in implementation of Automation tests using REST ASSURED, CYPRESS, JEST and Data Migration scripts using Pentaho data integration tool
  • 4 years of experience in work in Agile environment, and agile development concept understanding such as Test-Driven Development, continuous integration using Rest Assured, Cypress, Enzyme, and Jest

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field plus 4 years related experience.
