Your Responsibilities

 

As an Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) Manufacturing Assembly Engineer for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, IL, you will provide assembly manufacturing engineering support and troubleshooting for current operations in the Front- End Equipment business unit. In addition, you will:

 

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects impacting safety, quality, efficiency, cost and ergonomic improvements for department
  • Create, modify and maintain SAP, MP Planner and JDAAT (MES) to perform engineering functions
  • Set up, troubleshoot and maintain assembly equipment including a variety of torque tools and controllers
  • Review Sequence of Events (SOE), line balances, layouts, tooling, Operator Method Sheets (OMS) and control plans for revisions to current operations

What Skills You Need

 

  • Ability to gather, analyze and summarize trend data to make sound decisions
  • Experience with advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis
  • Experience with standard quality tools such as Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis and statistics
  • Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models or GD&T 
  • SAP experience and proficiency
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and quality systems

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Experience with MP Planner for SOE and OMS development
  • Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gainsharing programs such as Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP)
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience with JDAAT MES systems
  • Experience with torque tooling systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Creo View software
  • Experience with line balancing (DLBT)

Education

 

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline
