Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position 

 

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Part-Time Student at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois, you will perform tasks and assist in the development of projects that improve the Maintenance, Facilities & Paint organization’s mission to support our manufacturing operations through technical expertise, increased uptime, and decreased cost of ownership. Tasks would include: 

 

  • Management of data within our processes to enhance business intelligence and drive improved action needed
  • Collaboration with other maintenance and production team members (e.g., engineers, supervisors, skilled trades, operators, etc.) for projects and business improvement efforts
  • Assist with the development of a skilled trades and operator training certification program
  • Gather and organize Original Equipment Manufacturer documentation (spare parts, guides, etc)
  • Develop technical troubleshooting skills by working alongside engineers, operators, or maintenance skilled trades
  • Plan and schedule improvement projects and extensive repair work
  • Collaborate with paint and automation engineers on projects to improve paint and conveyor processes and data collection methods

 

This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

 

What Skills You Need

 

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology or Manufacturing; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
  • Graduation date of May 2024 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in East Moline, Illinois on a daily basis year-round
