Main Responsibilites:

  • Lead the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance/Facilities organizations to ensure safe, capable, and reliable manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly) that deliver cylinder products on time to our Partners. This role owns process readiness, equipment reliability, continuous improvement, cost/expense control, and execution of new product and capital projects, including those requiring an AFE.

 

Lead & Develop the Manufacturing Engineering + Maintenance/Facilities Teams.

  • Build a high-performing organization through clear expectations, coaching, capability building, succession planning, and engagement. Foster an inclusive culture and strong accountability for results and teamwork.

 

Drive Structured Problem Solving & Daily Issue Resolution

  • Guide teams in disciplined problem-solving (root cause, containment, corrective/preventive actions), ensuring issues are resolved at the source and lessons learned are standardized across processes and shifts.

 

Own Process Engineering for Machining, Welding, and Assembly.

  • Develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes that meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. Lead creation/maintenance of process documentation (standard work, routings, setup parameters, control methods) and ensure robust process capability in production.

 

Ensure Process Readiness & Product/Process Verification Support

  • Provide technical support across functions (manufacturing, quality, supply, etc.) and execute/coordinate verification and validation activities as needed to confirm process robustness and product requirements.

Equipment Reliability, Uptime, and OEE Improvement

  • Develop strategies and implement systems to improve equipment uptime and drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through reliability engineering, loss elimination, and production-maintenance alignment.

 

Maintenance System Excellence (Preventive / Predictive / Planned Work)

  • Establish and sustain maintenance standards: preventive maintenance compliance, planned work execution, effective troubleshooting, and rapid recovery. Ensure critical spares, maintenance planning, and skilled trades execution support production needs.

Main Responsibilites:

Facilities & Utilities Stewardship

  • Coordinate facilities responsibilities (building systems, utilities, safety infrastructure, contractors) to ensure plant services reliably support manufacturing and compliance needs, minimizing downtime and operational risk.

 

On-Time Delivery Enablement (Partner Commitments)

  • Ensure machines, processes, and maintenance/facilities systems support production schedules and deliverables—anticipating constraints, managing capacity risks, and removing bottlenecks to protect on-time shipment of cylinders.

 

Expense/Budget Ownership and Cost Discipline

  • Own departmental expense planning and execution. Ensure spending is thoroughly controlled to meet budget expectations, including transparent forecasting, gap-to-plan actions, and prioritization of resources to maximize value.

Cost Reduction & Productivity Projects (Measurable Results)

  • Lead cost reduction and efficiency initiatives across manufacturing processes and maintenance systems. Drive quantifiable improvements (scrap reduction, labor productivity, uptime gains, energy/utilities savings, tooling optimization), and standardize best practices.

 

New Product / Product Renewal & Industrialization Projects

  • Lead manufacturing readiness for new products and engineering changes: process development, capacity and tooling strategy, trials, ramp-up execution, risk mitigation, and cross-functional launch coordination.

 

Capital Project Leadership (Including AFE-Required Projects)

  • Lead end-to-end capital projects: scope definition, business case, supplier engagement, schedule, commissioning, and benefit validation—ensuring governance and approvals are followed before commitments are made.

 

AFE Governance, Controls, and Accountability

  • For AFE-funded work, ensure projects are fully defined, supported by solid estimates/quotes, managed to approved dollar limits, and promptly escalated if scope/cost changes arise (including required rewrites/forecast updates per guideline thresholds).

Smart/Connected Factory, Automation & Technology Enablement

  • Support modernization through automation, data/monitoring, and manufacturing technology improvements that increase stability, safety, and productivity while strengthening long-term support capability.

 

Metrics, Management System, and Cross-Functional Communication

  • Establish a visible operating system using actionable KPIs (uptime/OEE, downtime, PM compliance, project milestones, budget adherence). Communicate status, risks, and recovery plans clearly to operations leadership and partners.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge.
  • Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment and Company division/unit. Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors.
  • Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Technology Development process (ETDP) and/or Enterprise Customer Acquisition Process (ECAP).
  • Experience Leading Both Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Organizations Hands-On Leader with Strategic Perspective

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience leading both manufacturing and maintenance organizations in an industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance systems, and asset reliability.
  • Proven people leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
