This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As an Electrical & Software Test Engineer for John Deere Engineering Center located in Augusta, GA, you will maintain and integrate applicable software into the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test environment to allow earlier detection of software issues. In addition, you will:
- Analyze software requirements and plan, coordinate, and perform testing on electrical components, embedded software, and agricultural machines to verify that components, systems, and software meet requirements
- Develop the automation environment, plant models, and scripts for automated testing
- Conduct software / hardware test activities to meet Product Development Process schedules and align testing with Product Verification & Validation activities
- Collaborate and troubleshoot with verification champions, testers, developers, and stakeholders

What Skills You Need
- 3 or more years' experience with the development and execution of embedded software qualification and validation in the SiL, HiL and ViL environments
- General understanding of C, C++, C# and integration of Matlab plant models
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills and teamwork experience
- Good knowledge of electrical and electronic controls, components, and troubleshooting related issues
What Makes You Stand Out
- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification or equivalent
- ECU Test tool knowledge and experience
- Experience with J1939 CAN and use of CAN interface tools such as Vector tools
- Knowledge of Agile development process and using Rally
- Knowledge of data logging tools, such as eDAQ to record and analyze CAN data
- Knowledge and experience with John Deere Vision or V2Net and EETs PVV documentation systems
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
