Your Responsibilities

As a Software Test Automation Engineer II at John Deere RDC, based in the Indaiatuba/SP, you will be responsible for contributing to the development, execution, and continuous improvement of automated test solutions for embedded software systems. You will work closely with you supervisor and cross-functional teams to ensure software quality, reduce manual testing, and accelerate feedback loops to development teams.  

Your Responsibilities 

  • Implement scripts to automate Test Cases for different features and platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for embedded software platforms.
  • Mentor engineers and interns on automation best practices and tools.
  • Drive improvements in test coverage, execution efficiency, and defect detection.
  • Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and validation teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute test cases in SIL, HIL, and VIL environments and analyze results to identify defects.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to test framework enhancements.
  • Document test plans, procedures, and results in compliance with internal quality standards.
  • Design Test Cases from Requirements.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with automated test integration.

What Skills You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Python, Git, and test automation frameworks.
  • Experience in Developing and Testing Embedded Software.
  • Understanding of CAN/Ethernet protocols
  • Advanced English: broad vocabulary, good grammar, conducts meetings, argues, negotiates and provides training.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and coach junior engineers.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with PyTest.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  • Knowledge on Code Best Practices and Code Standards.
  • Experience with ECU-Test or similar tools.
  • Experience in Agroindustry and/or Automotive Industry.
  • Experience with test-driven development and performance testing.
  • Experience with Jenkins.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent.
  • Basics Knowledge on JD1939.
  • Experience in BUGs identification, analysis and fixing.
  • Agile/Scrum methodology familiarity.
