Turf & Precision Guidance Training Placement.

John Deere is a leading supplier of agricultural, professional turf, and grounds maintenance equipment, and we are seeking a student placement for 12 months to support our training needs within the turf sector. They will get exposure to several different parts of the business – namely Sales & Marketing, Customer Support and Training

To join us in July 2025, we are seeking people for a Turf/Precision Guidance internship which will likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Working with the Turf Training Manager for Europe
  • Organisation and development of training material for professional turf dealers
  • Support turf machinery shows and training events
  • Data validation for precision guided machinery in conjunction with an educational establishment or external business – working with high profile golf courses, Premier League football clubs, and fine sports turf across Europe   
  • Working as part of the team you will be happy to roll up your sleeves to help with set up at training events across Europe and will get to enjoy the fruits of your labour by attending these events
  • Preparation of facilities, machinery, material, and schedules for training events.
  • Processing spreadsheets
  • Competent with Microsoft packages, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Data analysis
  • This position would suit a general business student or one specialising in sports, an interest in golf would be beneficial but not a necessity

  • Spend time with Turf Territory Managers, visiting customers and dealers, seeing demos, getting a sense of what this role entails to broaden your knowledge and understanding
  • Be part of a fun, vibrant team based in Nottingham at the Sales & Marketing Branch
  • Supporting and developing presentations to customers and dealers and other audiences about the John Deere brand and products.
  • You could also get the opportunity to work on projects with the other teams within the business. This is the perfect way to look at all angles of the business.

 

What we expect from you:

  • Positive approach, can do attitude, willingness to get stuck in and give things a try, comfortable with working on your own initiative although rest assured there’ll be plenty of support to help you succeed.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad. Approximately once per month.
  • A clean driving license is desirable.

 

This is not an exhaustive list of duties, but an example of some of the tasks that a student on our placements may enjoy being part of.

Major Purpose

This job is to be used for salaried positions outside of the US/Canada. Positions mapped to this job are used for special apprentice programs for salaried employees (e.g. the Bachelor of Arts program in German units, which takes 3 years). The employees typically start the program right after high school. They get a contract with the company that covers the whole apprentice program period. The participants of this program require a position in SAP in order to be on the company's payroll. Employment stops at the end of the contract.
