Our lT department team is looking for a:

Software Engineer – Data Platform

Luxembourg, Luxembourg

As part of our Data Product team, you will ensure that data from source systems is consolidated, and you will work extensively with Databricks to build and operate our data products. You will ensure data is accurate and available for BI/Analytics consumption across John Deere Financial in Europe. Furthermore, you will work on making data easily discoverable and consumable (leveraging Databricks and the Enterprise Data Lake) while ensuring that these datasets conform to relevant compliance and data security policies and standards. 

 

Your major duties will be to:  

  • Collaborate on data migration initiatives from on-premises to our cloud-hosted Enterprise Data Lake and automate processing capabilities.

  • Establish scalable, secure and automated data pipelines and infrastructure to enable data analysis and collection.  

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark (PySpark) and cloud-based technologies.

  • Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation.

  • Support your colleagues and team members, working collaboratively and sharing knowledge in pair-programming and coding review sessions.

 

Skills we are looking for: 

  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tools and technologies (Python, Apache Spark/PySpark, SQL DB, NoSQL DB, Data Lake concepts).

  • Experience with Databricks workflows, dashboards and Unity Catalog.

  • Experience with ETL, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing and working with large-scale datasets.

  • Working knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, etc. 

  • Experience leveraging DevOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment using tools like Git, Jenkins.

  • Peer Reviews and Pair Programming, working in an agile team environment.

  • Fluency in English is essential (both spoken and written).

  • Master’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
