This position can be located at a John Deere facility in a number of US cities in IA, IL, WI, ND, KS, TX, LA, GA, NC, or CA, per the hiring manager's discretion.  This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.


This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change

Your Responsibilities


As a Data and Measurements Engineer for Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in Moline, IL you will provide technical expertise and leadership to support the Enterprise in data engineering and data analytics within the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) competency.  This support will consist of:


  • Provide technical expertise in developing processes and automation in verifying and validating measured data generated by Enterprise processes including product development, customer acquisition and customer support.
  • Provide technical expertise to the field, lab, simulation, and customer data collection teams to support the ingestion of data into a data lake house architecture.
  • Lead the PV&V community in streamlining data ingestion, verification, storage, and analytics processes.
  • Assist in developing and advocate for best practices for data analysis, analytics, and storage across the PV&V competencies.

What Skills You Need


  • 8 or more years of experience in Product Engineering (Product Verification & Validation (PV&V), product design, and/or Virtual Design & Verification (VD&V))
  • 5 or more years working knowledge of or exposure to one or more PV&V core disciplines, including field testing, lab testing, field data collection, and processing of engineering data to support Product Engineering
  • 3 or more years working knowledge or exposure to Data Engineering and some respective tools and technologies (e.g. Databricks, Data/Delta Lake concepts, MatLab, Python, Pysparks)
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers in the use of new or unfamiliar tools and processes
  • Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not have every skill outlined.

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Working knowledge in AWS or exposure to other cloud technologies.
  • Working knowledge of System Engineering principles
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence without authority. 
  • Experience working with a global team

  • Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science



Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent degree in a related technology field or discipline.
