This position is eligible for partial remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As an Environmental Staff Engineer, Sustainability for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will be primarily responsible for the management of the water and waste intensity reduction goals specifically providing support to ensure the execution of initiatives targeted to meet established goals. Responsibilities include:
- Act as the lead resource and subject matter expert for driving initiatives, best practice sharing, and standard tools/processes related to achieving the waste and water reduction sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business for aligned execution of objectives.
- Support sites in data collection and analysis to identify opportunities and track the progress of goals. Develop communications to provide updates on the status of initiatives.
- Willing to be hands-on, and creative and leverage internal and external resources to identify new opportunities related to achieving sustainability goals.
- Provide support to the execution of strategic and tactical environmental plans.
- Serve as a resource and provide environmental expertise to environmental professionals globally.

What Skills You Need
- 5 or more years of work experience in an environmental or sustainability profession
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong people skills and willingness to work with employees across different functional areas
- Strong project management experience
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally <25%
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with MS Office 365
- Experience with data analytics tools
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or relevant degree
