The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
This position would be a mixture of John Deere paint lab innovation projects and ongoing lab support. Working with the Enterprise Facilities Services, Paint Manufacturing Services Team to support project coordination and communication throughout the company. Then taking on roles at the local John Deere Quad Cities factories to support paint manufacturing engineering and potentially facilities engineering projects and quality initiates.
- Support Paint Lab with testing and new method development.
- Works with Deere software to perform engineering functions.
- Provides technical and quality support for basic trouble shooting of paint operations.
- Develop plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing. Create operator method sheets for standard work. Support cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas
This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need
- Available to work during the academic year. 16 to 20 hours
- Available to work during the summer semester. Up to 40 hours
- Must be able to commute to Moline Tech center or other local John Deere unit in Quad Cities as needed. Flexible schedule to be created M – F during work hours.
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university or recent graduated
- Graduation date of 2021 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
