Your Responsibilities

 

As a Technical Information Specialist for the Enterprise Technical Information Development (ETID) organization located in Ottumwa, IA, you will provide technical and analytical leadership in the development of operational, maintenance, repair, installation, onscreen help, and diagnostic information by understanding product purposes, functions, and user requirements for Hay products.

 

Additionally, you will:

 

  • Lead and contribute to innovation & strategy projects supporting standards, automation, machine learning, continuous lifecycle, and advanced diagnostic solutions for enterprise initiatives.
  • Work in partnership with product engineering and customer support representatives to identify and define solutions improving technician pain-points, efficiency, and customer uptime.
  • Collaborate with product engineering and customer support engineering to define hardware, software, and technical information required to support Design for Diagnostics and Diagnose in less than 1 hours.
  • Support project leader, technical information specialists, and training development specialist to create and execute a development plan that meets quality, efficiency, and economic requirements. 
  • Lead and oversee technical information development activities by identifying, scoping, and assigning work to global internal and external content development resources.    
  • Own and conduct technical content reviews with content developers and subject matter experts for quality outcomes.
  • Provide work direction, mentoring, and training to less-senior personnel, local, remote, or contract authoring center(s) as necessary.

What Skills You Need

  • 3+ years experience in engineering principles, theory, and practice.
  • 3+ years experience with troubleshooting systems, functions, and components.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in decision making and driving high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to adjust normal workday to support global business needs.
  • Fostering and sustaining inclusive work environment where diversity can thrive, generating innovative solutions, advancements in technology, and employee engagement.
  • Comfort with adapting to changes and seeking out innovation.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills to detect, diagnose, and resolve complex machine issues, particularly with hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

  • Previous work experience in one or more of the following:  technical training, engineering, field-representative, central product/customer support, service engineering.

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Ag/Turf Sciences, Data Science/Analytics or quantitative disciplines.
