Main Responsibilities
- The position directs the activities of the shipping staff to ensure the export of goods is executed on time, properly documented and compliant from a governmental regulatory and company policy standpoint.
What Skills You Need
- Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
- Manage a medium-sized, medium-complexity warehouse and stores using existing procedures, and develop new procedures when required, to ensure that all goods and supplies are stored and recorded appropriately.
- Explain the local action plan, to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission, and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
- Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area. Involves using existing systems and protocols.
- Improve the outgoing goods process by cultivating an understanding of outgoing goods needs and developing ideas for prototypes.
- Manage the transportation of goods and supplies for a medium-sized organization, using existing procedures; review procedures and recommend improvements to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.
- Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.
- Track budgets and report variances to more senior colleagues.
- Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
