Your Responsibilities
As a MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR for John Deere Thibodaux, located in Thibodaux, Louisiana, you will plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing and factory engineering work supporting machining and fabrication operations. This role integrates technical depth from individual contributor engineering roles with cross-functional leadership and coordination expectations. The supervisor supports safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing processes while contributing to continuous improvement, layout development, tooling implementation, and standards development
• Collaborate closely with Factory Engineering, Manufacturing, Tool Design, Maintenance, and Operations teams to align safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.
• Delivery of required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
• Contribute to the design, validation, and implementation of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and production equipment to support new or revised products.
• Support factory layout development and material flow optimization to improve efficiency and ergonomics.
• Assist in drafting, evaluating, and improving engineering standards, specifications, and work instructions.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and apply lean manufacturing and change management principles.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, tooling suppliers, and external vendors within established project and contract management plans.
• Execute assigned project tasks with accountability, managing scope, schedule, and quality within established guidelines.
• Support inspections and evaluations of engineering installations and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Communicate project status, risks, and action plans effectively to stakeholders.

What Skills You Need
• Strong understanding of machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, and manufacturing engineering principles.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Creo.
• Fundamental understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), with the ability to apply principles and provide guidance and feedback.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing data and translate requirements into effective engineering solutions.
• Working knowledge of project management fundamentals and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Attention to detail with ability to create and maintain technical documentation.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
