Your Responsibilities

 

As a Quality Engineer, Assembly for John Deere Thibodaux, located in Thibodaux, Louisiana, you will...

 

  • Provide quality planning, control, and improvement support for product development teams, manufacturing engineering, supply management, and manufacturing and/or distribution organizations to assure John Deere product quality meets the customers' expectations
  • Support application of quality tools with key suppliers as an integral element of quality planning. Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Investigate high impact quality deficiencies to determine root cause and develop corrective action plans to support business goals
  • Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery and equipment required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes
  • Carry out inspections to evaluate quality of engineering work and make recommendations on the work needed to ensure conformance
  • Develop inspection criteria and processes and establish No Fault Forward zones for assembly lines
  • Lead multi-functional Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) tasked with improving overall assembly quality
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System and support ISO9001 audits
  • Use technology to improve quality processes and data visualization

What Skills You Need

 

  • Engineering experience gained from practical work experience
  • Understanding of quality and manufacturing processes
  • 2 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems and databases

  • Knowledge of root cause analysis
  • Experience with JDAAT and MPPlanner
  • Experience with data analytics
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
  • Experience in project management 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Operations discipline
