Title: ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

The Role

 

Performs various accounting functions for the Waratah New Zealand Accounting Team covering multiple Business Units. Coordinates, prepares and analyses reports that provide summary financial information for each Business Unit.  Responsible for Cashbook transactions and Accounts Receivable functions.  Provides support to the Accounting and Finance Team.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Complete GST and FBT returns (all Business units).
  • Complete Compliance Audit Reports (all Business units).
  • Provide accounting support including Month Close Support, Balance sheet reconciliations and JD Net account reconciliations for all Business units.
  • Provide Accounting cover and support during absence of Accounting Team members. Including Month Close Support, preparation of journals, sales and inventory reconciliations, exhibits and balance sheet reconciliations and other tasks as required.
  • Project work to drive efficiencies in process and automation of system tasks.
  • Complete and/or supervise daily/monthly Cashbook duties (bank reconciliations, supplier payments, Deere Netting).
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable (Debtors reconciliations, Payment Off-sets, Credit Control, Intercompany Confirmations
  • Provide support and cover during absence for capital Expenditure, including preparing Capital applications, monthly reconciliations, reporting, maintaining Fixed Asset register, depreciation and capital reports.
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations for Capital/Fixed Asset GL accounts across all units.
  • Assist with functional area audit compliance testing as required.
