Responsibilities
As the GNSS Architect within our Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) based in Torrance, CA, you will be an integral member of a reputable Localization team consisting of nine technical experts in areas of fusion architecture, baseband design, performance testing, and robotics. This team is dedicated to driving innovation within our Precision Ag Technology product line, specifically for products that interface with global navigation satellite system receivers.
Your day-to-day will involve applying your expertise in satellite communications and RF to design position receivers by developing and testing algorithms for signal processing and navigation. You will also be challenged with seamlessly integrating ASICs into our guidance products and delivering a product-ready set of thoroughly field-tested ASICs.
Additionally, your effort will play a crucial role in shaping the future of precision agriculture technology, helping farmers globally implement precision agriculture practices, optimize resource utilization, increase yields, and reduce environmental impacts through the use of GNSS-based guidance, monitoring, and control systems.
You will also:
- Leverage your expertise in satellite communications and RF to design cutting-edge GNSS solutions
- Develop a GNSS measurement engine that supplies precise signal measurements to the navigator while adapting to diverse operational scenarios like shading, scintillation, and interference
- Spearhead the research and assessment of GNSS and Satellite PNT algorithms utilizing FPGA-based hardware
- Implement and test designs for acquiring and tracking satellite signals
- Design an ASIC for product integration that improves the sensitivity and performance of GNSS receivers
- Employ mathematical simulations to investigate how signal processing can be optimized
- Mitigate the signal quality and robustness concerns of our GNSS receivers
- Evaluate early prototypes using FPGA and discrete RF front ends on overall system performance through lab testing
- Utilizing your C++ and MATLAB skills to develop, optimize, and test algorithms and firmware
- Partner with firmware engineers to incorporate designs into standalone products

Salary Range: $179,532 - $269,292
What skills you need
- A deep understanding of GNSS signals and communication techniques for designing and executing
- Experienced in C++ and MATLAB
- Expertise in creating and implementing designs that acquire and track satellite and terrestrial signals in both digital and software control logic
- Well-versed in designing and simulating digital signal processing algorithms for GNSS and other signals that aid in navigation
- Familiarity with researching and developing new algorithms that leverage signal processing advancements
- Experience with designing and simulating digital signal processing algorithms for GNSS and other communication signals
- Experience in writing firmware code that will control acquisition and tracking loops of the measurement engine
- A track record of guiding FPGA and RF designers to implement algorithms and conduct real waveform tests
What makes you stand out
- 12+ years of hands-on GNSS expertise and Communication Rx development
- Robust background in GPS, Galileo, Glonass and Beiduo
- Strong Comms background with an understanding of link budgets and demodulation/decoding algorithms
- Proficiency with Matlab and C++
- In-depth knowledge of RF and Digital test equipment, encompassing spectrum analyzers, signal generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
- Adept at working with Verilog code for FPGA implementation
Education
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Theory, or Signal Processing
