Your Responsibilities
As a Engineering Manager - Embedded DevOps Enablement for Deere & Copany World Headquarters located in Urbandale, IA, you will be working with a team of engineers to transform the building, integration, testing, and delivery of our on-board software. This team will build a platform that allows for the orchestration of our software through all phases of DevOps for all of the equipment platforms. You will find common concepts and processes and automate them to increase productivity for our embedded developer and PV&V communities at John Deere.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a small team of 6-8 people and a contract team.
- Acting as product manager for our embedded DevOps Platform.
- Partnering with PV&V, developers, platform teams, Digital ORE, security, and equipment platform stakeholders to enable delivery across the enterprise.

What Skills You Need
- Eight or more years with DevOps tools, concepts and practices
- Eight or more years of experience C and/or C++.
- Eight or more years of experience providing technical leadership and coordination across multiple teams to deliver production software systems
- Five or more years of IT support practices like ITIL or ITSM.
- Five or more years of experience with building and managing applications and infrastructure in AWS with Terraform or CloudFormation.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Strong communications skills: Ability to translate business impact into technical recovery objectives and solutions.
- Creativity in problem solving using a combination of experience, knowledge, and the utilization of AI.
- Experience with testing and simulation of embedded software.
- Experience in with developer container platform architectures and tools such as Kubernetes, EKS, and Docker.
- Proven experience in rolling out large software enablement projects.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other IT related discipline
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelors degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other related discipline
