 This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change. 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Software Delivery Supervisor – Linux BSP for JD ISG - Urbandale located in Urbandale, IA, you will:

  • Lead the development and testing of high-quality software features within the embedded operating systems group
  • Lead your team’s collaboration with their internal stakeholders including the management of user support
  • Be a technical and non-technical skills coach for your team developing their individual talents
  • Collaborate with system engineers and software architects to help define feature requirements and system designs

What Skills You Need

 

  • Expert level of experience with Embedded Linux and real-time operating systems
  • Leadership experience in software product delivery using agile software development processes
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in technical leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in roles that required excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering principles
  • Strong understanding of the embedded software development workflow from requirements to machine validation
  • Product Owner experience 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Experience with C/C++
  • Experience with embedded software continuous integration practices and tools
  • Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders (electrical engineers, systems engineers, program managers, customer support, etc) to understand customer requirements and how those can be translated into software requirements and implementations
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and willingness to keep growing skills to contribute to an evolving team
  • Focus and passion for developing innovative technical solutions to solve customer problems
  • Background with John Deere products, farming practices and/or farm equipment operation

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent experience
