This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.  

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a UX Engineer, Tractors for John Deere ISG located in Urbandale, IA, you will….

 

  • Mentor designers, dive deep into technical challenges, and help shape the future of tractor experiences.
  • Be part of a close-knit, collaborative Operator Experience group that values creativity, learning, and teamwork.
  • Discover, Define, Design and lead Delivery of in-cab experiences with shared responsibility for integration of cross-domain technology with other UX team members
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX Design, Systems Engineering, Customer Support, Marketing, and Software team members to deliver a best-in-class user experience to John Deere customers.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform validation activities for a variety of projects from a sub-system to a product level. 

 

This position can be done remotely for candidates currently based in Iowa, but will require willingness/ability to travel up to 75% to test sites.

What Skills You Need

 

  • 3 or more years of applied experience in User Experience Design or Research
  • 5 or more years of experience working with cross-functional teams such as engineering, software development, marketing, and business leaders
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to lead teams through the user centered design process
  • 3 or more years of experience of communicating research methodology, design concepts, data analysis, and test results to abroad range of stakeholders
  • Experience creating embedded software solution User Interfaces
  • Experience applying Human Factors principles in the Agriculture Equipment industry 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Experience using UX metrics to provide insights to product and engineering groups
  • Experience applying Human Factors principles in Tractor design
  • Experience with design collaboration software (Sketch, Figma)
  • Experience with software project management tools (Azure Dev Ops) 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or comparable work experience or certifications
