Your Responsibilities
As a Factory Materials Manager for JD Seeding - Valley City located in Valley City, ND, you will:
- Manages material value chain sub processes within the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Processes (EOFP). These sub-processes may include all or some of the following: Supply Chain Integration, Direct Material, Indirect Material and Services, Inventory Control, Inbound and/or Outbound Logistics, Receiving, Internal Material Flow, Production Planning, Service Parts, Continuous Improvement, Supplier Quality, Supplier Warranty Administration, Sales and Operations Planning, Plan the Order, Whole Goods Management, and Acquire. This includes managing the relationship between the suppliers and managing the resources to support the processes they have responsibility for. The following are typical characteristics of this position: Manages $100 to $300 million in purchases and manages some of the processes listed above or manages up to $100 million in purchases and manages most of the processes listed above. The unit has multiple product lines and some involvement in global product line supply chain integration.
- Manages a workforce greater than 15 people and typically reports to a Director or General Manager.
- Make sure a portfolio of suppliers are delivering required levels of services.
- Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources and assets being managed within a given area or department.
- Execute planning activities for one or two manufacturing/distribution units with dependencies on other processes/units/suppliers. Provide input to the overall supply planning framework and systems.
- Monitor, review, and highlight any gaps in the performance of a portfolio of suppliers to recommend and ensure delivery of improvements by suppliers or to renegotiate or change contract/supplier.
- Review existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.
- Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
- Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
- Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

- Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (Over 3 years to 6 years)
- Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree preferred
