Your Responsibilities
As a Design Engineer - Wiring Harness for John Deere Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Produce wiring harness designs using Creo Cabling and Capital Harness XC
- Produce and/or evaluate design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications
- Collaborate with other functional engineering groups, supply management and/or supplier personnel and provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality, and supply management organizations
- Analyze assignments and determine engineering specifications for complex problems or projects of moderate scope.

What Skills You Need
- 1 or more years of engineering experience or large assembly management in CREO
- 1 or more years of experience in roles that required a working knowledge of fundamental engineering principles (such as: mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, statics, dynamics, and material properties)
- Experience with standard computer applications (such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams)
What Makes You Stand Out
- 1 or more years of experience working with off-road vehicle engineering, preferably in the Agriculture or Construction Industry with specialized knowledge about wiring harness routing requirements and failure modes in wiring harness designs
- Experience working with tolerance stack-up studies
- Experience with engineering analysis tools. i.e., FEA, CFD
- Experience working and collaborating in an international team
- Working knowledge of Mentor CHS and Harness XC
- One or more years of project management experience
- Demonstrate good collaboration skills
- Experience with electrical circuits and components
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or Engineering Mechanics
