Your Responsibilities
As a Manager, Labor Relations for JD Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Develop and execute Labor Relations strategy for the unit to include responsibility for managing the collective bargaining agreement, oversight of workforce planning, pay plan administration, continuous improvement, productivity, and employee and community relations
- Lead the investigation and resolution of cases involving production and maintenance employees, taking personal responsibility for unique, complex, and/or highly confidential cases that require deep investigation
- Develop policies, procedures, and related guidelines for the function, ensuring compliance with external requirements and integration with the broader functional policy framework
- Make authoritative recommendations about technical or professional solutions that would significantly improve business performance to include productivity and labor cost management
- Manage relationships with local union officials, front line leaders, and corporate labor CoE
- Develop and propose negotiating positions consistent with business objectives; participate in negotiations to deliver outcomes that meet the objectives and are consistent with the organization's values

Multi-Unit Labor Relations Experience

Relevant experience with John Deere’s Incentive Pay Plan administration

Familiarity with UAW contract administration to include local provisions within Waterloo

Administration of customer support continuity plans

Prior first chair negotiation experience, prior responsibility for grievance resolutions, involvement in arbitrations, & responding to inquiries from government agencies, to include unfair labor practice charges (ULPs) with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Master's Degree in Human Resource Management, JD, Labor Relations, MBA

Substantial general work experience in Manufacturing Operations/Labor Relations
