Deere & Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Chicago, IL with the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 4 years related experience. Required skills: Experience developing large scale web applications that interact with backend APIs and have complex state management using JavaScript, Frameworks including React, Asynchronous Programming and state management libraries such as Redux to manage data, application state and components efficiently, which leads to easier-to-maintain code (4 yrs); Ability to apply UI/UX Patterns and web accessibility standards to create UI components that are user friendly and accessible to users with disabilities in the design and implementation phases of software development.  Design tools like Figma are necessary to build wireframes, mockups and prototypes of these UI components (4 yrs); Understanding of User-Centered Design principles to analyze, plan and recommend both UX and technical solutions to modernize and improve legacy applications with the ability to comprehend and work with existing legacy codebase and skill in refactoring code to make it more modular, maintainable and scalable (3 yrs); Experience using debugging tools and testing frameworks including Jest, React Testing Library, Chrome DevTools and React DevTools to identify and resolve issues in code during development (4 yrs). Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 80% remote work allowed.
