Your Responsibilities
As an Engineer, Motor Grader Module Structures for John Deere Construction & Forestry Division located in Davenport, IA, you will be responsible for updating product designs, coordinating testing and analysis, and supporting the product line to achieve quality and cost reductions goals. In addition, you will:
- Provide technical leadership to identify root cause, contain, and resolve product issues for the Motor Grader product family
- Collaborate with cross-functional module teams on developing solutions for current production issues in factory and field
- Drive projects to completion that improve our current product quality and cost.
- Work with internal and external suppliers to improve the quality and durability of current product
- Provide technical support to marketing, product support, manufacturing/assembly, quality, and supply management organizations, as well as other global manufacturing locations
- Occasionally travel to machines in the field to support root cause investigations and solution verification

What Skills You Need
- Engineering experience through internships, co-ops, or project experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing several projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with peers, suppliers and other functional areas.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools, such as Creo and SolidWorks.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience in structural design or analysis.
- Experience with various fabrication techniques.
- Experience working in a factory environment.
- Project leadership experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of off-road equipment
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar experience
