Your Responsibilities

 

As a Safety Coordinator for John Deere North American Parts Distribution Center located in Milan, IL, you will...

 

  • Assist the Safety Manager in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating health and safety management programs and processes.
  • Support strategic and tactical plans as required to meet company goals around compliance and injury reduction at a complex warehousing facility.
  • Conduct periodic inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Assist in corrective action development and safety education and training for employees.

What Skills You Need

 

  • 1 or more years of experience applying occupational safety governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation.
  • 1 or more years of practical application of occupational health principles, occupational safety programs and ergonomic principles.
  • 1 or more years of executing processes for periodic inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action assurance, safety education and training.
  • 1 or more years of experience analyzing appropriate safety and health metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • 1 or more years of experience in the Occupational Safety and Health profession in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment. 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Knowledge of warehousing processes and factory operations.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience working with collective bargaining units.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation. 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent related work experience.
