Primary Location: United States (US) - North Carolina  - Kernersville   

 

As a Plate Processor with John Deere in Kernersville, NC, you will:

Perform assembly related operations in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.  Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

  • Perform all duties safely and continuously promote safety improvements.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and Lean guidelines.
  • Complete all required quality checks and adhere to all Quality Standards.
  • Support all Distinctive Quality initiatives.
  • Support all 5S activities.
  • Support all Kaizen related activities, Kaizen Meetings, and Small Work Teams.
  • Perform cutting operations using the Plasma machines to drawing specifications.
  • Perform secondary operations in the Bevel, Roll, Press Break, and Flattening Press to drawing specifications.
  • Operate overhead cranes and fork trucks.
  • Perform required departmental welding operations.  Gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
  • Perform appropriate repair work utilizing welding and grinding operations, as necessary.
  • Follow all inventory control procedures for steel parts.
  • Update daily documentation, as required.
  • Assist and support other team members.
  • Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.

 

 

These positions could be for second (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) and/or third shift (10:30 pm to 7:00 am)

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have at least one of the following:
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
    • At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Must have at least 1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
