Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Rock Valley
As a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician with John Deere in Rock Valley, IA, you will:
Troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment, including electrical circuits, mechanical components, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Additionally, you will partner with engineering to reduce equipment downtime and support continuous improvement.
We are seeking mechanically inclined candidates with experience in equipment maintenance, industrial repair, automotive repair, agricultural equipment, military maintenance, machine repair, or manufacturing operations. CNC experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn CNC machine maintenance are encouraged to apply.
Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on production machines, motors, conveyors and other mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain maintenance records: PM completion, repair history, parts used and downtime duration. Track equipment parts and supply inventory: track spare parts and ensure availability.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and ladder logic printouts to trace circuit operation and isolate fault locations. 240/480V electrical systems.
- Diagnose problems with spindle drives, servo drives, motors, encoders and power supplies, troubleshoot CNC equipment alarms. Make necessary adjustments or repairs as required.
- Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work with production and engineering to minimize machine downtime with minimal supervision.
- Assist and support other team members.
- Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
- At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
- Must have at least 1 year of production maintenance work experience, including:
- Working knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems; including experience with typical mechanical and electrical hand tools.
- Working knowledge and ability to service various automation tools such as PLCs, CNC controllers, AC/DC motor control circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
Preferred Qualifications (What Makes You Stand Out):
